# Set up SoundCloud
URL: https://musicapi.com/docs/connect-users/configure-soundcloud.md

> What you need from SoundCloud for developers, the one redirect URI SoundCloud allows, and the SoundCloud limits.

Product: MusicAPI Core and MusicAPI Managed Transfers. Section: Connect your users.

> **Managed integration:** A `transferring` sign-up gets copies of the integrations that MusicAPI runs. When your **Integrations** page already lists SoundCloud, users can sign in with no setup on your side. Set up your own app only when SoundCloud already approved one for you.

## What you need from SoundCloud

An application at [SoundCloud for developers](https://soundcloud.com/you/apps). Copy:

| SoundCloud field | MusicAPI field |
| ---------------- | -------------- |
| Client ID        | Client ID      |
| Client Secret    | Client Secret  |

## Redirect URI

SoundCloud stores only one redirect URI per app. Register exactly this one. Note the hyphen: it is not the integration type `soundCloud`.

```url
https://api.musicapi.com/callback/sound-cloud
```

## Add it to MusicAPI

1. Open **Integrations** in the dashboard and pick SoundCloud.
2. Paste the Client ID and the Client Secret, and save.
3. Turn **Is Enabled** on.
4. Press **Test SoundCloud** and sign in once.

## Quirks

- SoundCloud has no saved albums.
- Tracks can carry an ISRC, but the user search does not take one.
- Many uploads exist only on SoundCloud, so a match into other services often fails for them.
- SoundCloud gives no user email.
- At most 50 items per page (`limitParam`), at most 500 tracks per playlist.

## Direct sign-in link

```url
https://app.musicapi.com/{slug}/soundCloud/auth?returnUrl={returnUrl}
```
