# Set up Tidal
URL: https://musicapi.com/docs/connect-users/configure-tidal.md

> What you need from the Tidal developer dashboard, the redirect URI and scopes to register, and the Tidal limits.

Product: MusicAPI Core and MusicAPI Managed Transfers. Section: Connect your users.

> **Managed integration:** A `transferring` sign-up gets copies of the integrations that MusicAPI runs. When your **Integrations** page already lists Tidal, users can sign in with no setup on your side. Set up your own Tidal app when your account has no Tidal integration, or when your users must see your app at Tidal.

## What you need from Tidal

An app in the [Tidal developer dashboard](https://developer.tidal.com/dashboard). Create it with **Create App**, then copy:

| Tidal field   | MusicAPI field |
| ------------- | -------------- |
| Client ID     | Client ID      |
| Client Secret | Client Secret  |

## Redirect URI

```url
https://api.musicapi.com/callback/tidal
```

## Scopes

```text
user.read collection.read search.read playlists.write playlists.read
collection.write playback recommendations.read search.write
```

## Add it to MusicAPI

1. Open **Integrations** in the dashboard and pick Tidal.
2. Paste the Client ID and the Client Secret, and save.
3. Turn **Is Enabled** on.
4. Press **Test Tidal** and sign in once.

## Quirks

- Tidal cannot remove or reorder tracks in a playlist through the API.
- Tracks carry an ISRC, but the user search does not take one.
- At most 20 items per page (`limitParam`), a low cap. Expect more pages.

## Direct sign-in link

```url
https://app.musicapi.com/{slug}/tidal/auth?returnUrl={returnUrl}
```
