Demoify: try Managed Transfers with a demo destination
Demoify is a pretend music service by MusicAPI. It needs no account and no sign-in, it keeps what a transfer writes, and it shows the result as a small streaming app: home, library, liked tracks, albums, artists and every playlist. Nothing is written to a real music service.
Two ways to use it
The public demo
Anybody can try it, with no MusicAPI account:
https://app.musicapi.com/demo/transfer
Pick a source. The Sample library needs no sign-in. A real service works too: the user's own account is only read, never changed. At the end, the user opens the transferred library in Demoify.
A public demo library and the source account behind it are deleted after 7 days. Every Demoify screen shows the date.
Your own flow, before your service is ready
A transferring sign-up starts with Demoify as its Transfer destination. Your own transfer URL then works on the first day:
https://app.musicapi.com/{slug}/transfer
Use it to check your branding, your webhooks and the Match Results API with real libraries. When your service is ready, pick it as the destination on the Transfer Branding page.
What Demoify shows
- Every transferred playlist, liked track, album and artist.
- The unmatched items, marked in each collection.
- A bar that says it is a demo, and that no real service was written to.
What is different from a real destination
- Requests to Demoify and to the Sample library are never metered. In your own flow, the requests to a real source service count as usual.
- Demoify and the Sample library never show in a public service list, and the catalog search does not cover them.
In the API
| Service | Integration type |
|---|---|
| Demoify | demo |
| Sample library | sample |
The demo account uses these two services as transfer destinations. The docs sandbox (Try it, signed out) runs the library calls on the music account that you connect.
